A large flagship store in the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, which opened less than two years ago, is apparently shutting down for good.
Shoppers World, which occupied more than half of the space originally occupied by JCPenney, now has âclose doorsâ signs hanging from its doors.
The discount department store opened just in time for Thanksgiving 2019, after JCPenney closed four months earlier and Sears closed in late 2018.
On their website, Shoppers World says it operates 40 stores in New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Texas. Their stores carry a wide variety of clothing, footwear, lingerie, seasonal items, and school and work uniforms.
With the closure, Macy’s will be Hamilton Mall’s one and only flagship store, while department stores like H&M and Forever 21 will continue to operate indoors.
