A look at the final ranking of IU Basketball 2022 signers across the top four national outlets – The Daily Hoosier


All four Indiana Class of 2022 signers were ranked in the top 110 nationally according to 247Sports’ final rankings for the incoming freshman class released Wednesday.

Montverde Academy products Jalen Hood-Schifino (23) and Malik Reneau (35) were both among the top 35 prospects, while Kaleb Banks came in at No. 77.

247Sports was the first from national media to include Lawrence North shooter CJ Gunn in its final rankings. It enters at No. 107.

All four IU signers are 4 stars according to 247Sports.

Previously, the other three major national news outlets that prepare the rankings have released their final 2022 ranking class. The rankings of each IU signer across the four outlets are summarized below.

According to the On3 Consensus Rankings, which averages the four major national recruiting rating sites (On3, 247, Rivals, and ESPN), Indiana has the No. 14 ranking in the nation and the No. 1 ranking in the Big Ten.

The Pittsburgh native is the highest-rated incoming rookie in the Big Ten (247Sports) and led his Monteverde Academy (Florida) team to their sixth and second consecutive GEICO High School National Championship. He scored 14 points and hit three triples in the Jordan Brand Classic.

Reneau averaged 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds last season, including 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds at the GEICO High School Nationals. He had 14 points and 12 rebounds in the championship game.

Averaged 23.0 points, 10.0 tips and 1.4 steals per game during his senior high school season. Banks earned over 2,000 career points. He was the Georgia Class 4A Player of the Year.

Averaged 23.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals per game as a senior while shooting 46.8% from the field and 37.4% from deep. Gunn was an Indiana All-Star IBCA Supreme 15 All-State selection.
