You will often find a long line of vehicles waiting to purchase gasoline at Costco. That’s why it’s best to plan your trip during off-peak hours, such as the afternoon starts in the middle of the week.

3. It doesn’t matter which side the gas tank is on.

Before you go to the pump at any other gas station, you have to think which side of the car is your gas tank, but not at Costco!

Circulation is one-way and the extra-long pump hoses allow you to refuel from either side.

4. Do NOT block the middle lane

If you don’t often buy gasoline from Costco, you might not know why there is a middle lane. This is another design efficiency!

Here is a common scenario: There are two pumps in your lane and the car in front of you leaves the station first.

The middle lane gives the next driver in line enough room to get around the other car that’s still at the second pump and head towards the first pump.

To avoid delays, never block the middle lane by holding onto it or leaving your car door wide open.
