Buying a Hyundai with bad credit

The latest enhancement to their insurance program will go even further to help car buyers with poor credit who take out a car loan on a new Hyundai after May 16 of this year.

Our opinion

Car buyers with bad credit usually get the small end of the stick when it comes to the extra upgrades offered by a number of traditional auto loans.

At least that’s what we think here at Auto Credit Express where for twenty years we’ve been helping car buyers with bad credit find the franchised new car dealerships that can offer them their best chance of loan approval. automobile.

It’s also why we were pleasantly surprised by the latest addition to Hyundai’s long-running insurance program that was announced a week ago at the New York Auto Show.

Hyundai Insurance Program

If the name sounds familiar, it should. In January 2009, in response to the recession, Hyundai was among a group of manufacturers that launched an “insurance” program designed to protect consumers from “certain life-altering circumstances” such as job loss. or medical problems. It worked this way: if a customer financed or leased a new Hyundai vehicle and suffered one of 6 covered events, including job loss, within 12 months of purchase, they had the option to return his vehicle and walk away up to $7,500 in negative losses. equity with no impact on their credit ratings.

This program was in addition to Hyundai’s fairly comprehensive new car warranty – also part of the insurance program and you can see where it would be particularly useful for buyers with less than perfect credit.

With the economy improving, Hyundai ended the return program in December 2010.

New improvements help buyers in credit difficulty

Last week, during press days at the New York Auto Show, Hyundai announced its latest program enhancement called Assurance Connected Care.

First off, Hyundai’s existing new car warranty includes a 5-year, 60,000-mile limited warranty, 5-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and 5-year, 24-hour roadside assistance and Unlimited mileage. Now, for new vehicles equipped with Hyundai’s Blue Link Connected Services, Hyundai will offer the following services, starting May 16, at no additional cost for the first three years:

Security

• Automatic collision notification
• SOS emergency assistance
• Improved roadside assistance

Maintenance of the car

• Vehicle diagnostics with monthly vehicle health report
• Maintenance alert
• Automatic diagnostic code notification
• Recall Advisor
• Maintenance planning in the vehicle

It’s also worth pointing out that Hyundai sells some of the most affordable cars available in the United States, making it an ideal vehicle for car buyers with questionable credit.

Hyundai and low credit buyers

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that not all buyers with bad FICO scores are eligible for a new car.

We are often asked the question, “Does Hyundai lend to people with bad credit?” For the most part, it really depends on which lenders a particular dealership is registered with. That means there may not be a new Hyundai car dealership near you that offers help for people with damaged credit.

That being said, if you have bruised credit, what is the best way find a dealer who is ready to help you?
