Diane M. (Blose) Nixon, 87, formerly of Plum Borough, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 29, 2021, at her residence in her daughter’s home in Oakmont surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born August 23, 1934 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Thomas L and the late Viola (Pierro) Blose. She was a graduate of Penn Hills High School and retired secretary of Regency Park Elementary School in Plum Borough. She married her loving husband of 42 years, Richard C. Nixon, on June 6, 1955. Diane spent her years devoting herself to her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Diane’s Christian faith was an essential part of her life. As a longtime member of the Monroeville Assembly of God, she uplifted others through countless hours of prayer and served and supported ministries near and around the world. Diane was active in Bible study groups, a bowling league and the Red Hats, enjoying special times with friends. She volunteered at the Oakmont Presbyterian Home for many years and at the Oakmont Library. She was an avid reader and gardener, a wonderful cook and loved to travel with her children. One of her greatest joys has been creating lasting memories as she takes annual family vacations to the Outer Banks for over 30 years with her children and grandchildren. Diane is survived by her children, Heidi (Patrick) Dolan, Pamela (William) Ellison, Jill (Leighton) Cooper and Paula (Shane) Nixon; grandchildren, Brandon (Cindy) Gibson, Emily (Sean) Rourke, Olivia Dolan, Charlotte Dolan, Shelby Cooper and Blake Cooper; and great-grandchildren, Ireland, Ryker, Madison and Aidan. Diane is also survived by her sister, Sara (Donald) Kuhn. In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her husband and siblings, Thomas L. Blose Jr. and Aurelie (Blose) Campbell. Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial service in Diane’s honor at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at the Monroeville Assembly of God, 4561 Old William Penn Highway, Monroeville, the following lunch immediately. Interment will be private for the family at Plum Creek Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., Oakmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made on her behalf to her beloved charity, Light of Life Rescue Mission, 913 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
