Jennifer A. Lewellyn Joins Tiger Group as Associate Director of Retail Operations

22-year retail industry veteran brings extensive management and consulting experience, including working with Tiger on hundreds of store closings

NEW YORK, September 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Jennifer A. Lewellyna 22-year retail veteran with experience in both running healthy stores and liquidating underperforming locations, has joined Tiger Group as Associate Director of Retail Operations.

Situated at Pittsburgh, Lewellyn will provide insights and operational data to Tiger’s retail trading team during the due diligence phase. She will work on special projects, write appraisal reports and provide on-site management leadership and representation.

In the asset-based lending space, Lewellyn’s retail advisory experience has included multiple collaborations with Tiger Group. Lewellyn was part of the Tiger team that closed 95 Francesca stores from 2020, and she co-led the closings of more than 600 GNC stores across North America. Additionally, Lewellyn acted as lead regional consultant for the closure of 95 Stein Mart stores, a process that exceeded recovery expectations.

In retail management, Lewellyn’s most recent role, from 2017 to 2020, included overseeing a 53-store region for Variety Wholesalers’ Roses Stores, where she oversaw five unit managers. multiples, five corporate trainers and a total of 1,300 associates. His accomplishments in this role included year-over-year sales and profit growth, alleviating inventory shortages, and developing and implementing merchandising literature for a total of 400 stores.

The Warren, Ohio native began his career in retail Pittsburgh as District Manager for Value City Department Stores, Inc. Over the next eight years, she rose to Regional Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of 16 department stores with over 700 employees and the sales of $179 million. Lewellyn conducted internal performance audits, established operational and merchandise standards, managed inventory, and worked closely with merchants as well as regional and in-store associates.

From 2009 to 2014, Lewellyn served as District Operations Manager for a 10-store division of Sears Holdings Corp./Kmart. She oversaw over 400 employees and reduced year-over-year expenses for five years. Its locations have consistently ranked in the top ten for comparison store sales.
