After having to skip a year for the COVID-19 pandemic, Hilltop, with its open-air festival, will be back this year with more festivals than before. The event, which began in 2019, celebrates Allentown and Hilltop, terms given to the coalition of 11 districts of South Pittsburgh and Mount Oliver.
Initiative RE360 real estate investment companyWith help from the original event organizer, Commonwealth Press, Hilltop with the Lid Off will open hours of live music, art, food and more to the public free of charge. Held on Saturday August 28 in a warehouse space owned by RE360, the evening will feature a roster of four headlining groups and a large number of vendors.
“It was a shame that we weren’t able to organize the event in 2020,” says Benpris Villa, COO of RE360. Make this year’s event even better. Allentown is the gem of this wonderful little community in the middle of town. We want to show it to everyone. ”
Erin Shetler, Marketing Director of RE360, said organizers “more local manufacturers showcased with artists” compared to the 2019 event. Eat at Moonlit Burger and PGH Crepe Truck, have an adult drink at Arlington Beverage Club, Wiggle Whiskey, Inner Groove Brewing or grab a coffee at Redstart Roaster. It also features various SMEs and artists who sell clothing, pottery, jewelry and more.
“We want to develop this for future events,” adds Shetler.
Responding to concerns about hosting a face-to-face event when the number of COVID-19 cases rises again, Shetler said the event was taking place in an “outdoor and outdoor space” and that the organizer said We guarantee that you are following the status quo and CDC guidelines.
“This is a community event that connects Allentown and the surrounding area,” says Schettler. “Having it this year is what the community is looking forward to. “
